Wiki Etiquette
From Biodiversity of India
Key Policies
- Avoid bias. Articles should be written from a neutral point of view and be based on facts.
- Cite references when at all possible. NO OPINIONS PLEASE!
- Assume good faith.
- Don't infringe copyrights.. This website will have to shut down if we are found in violation of copyright laws. Create links, but don't cut-and-paste from copyrighted sources. If you see copyrighted material on this wiki, please reword it, cite it, or let someone know who can change it.
- Be nice - Don't be rude or offensive. Please use the discussion pages to discuss the material (not the author) and work towards an agreement. Be respectful.
- Don't delete other people's contributions (unless you know what you are doing).
Before Editing
- If you want to 'test' or try some syntax please experiment in the sandbox (User: Username/sandbox) or your own user page rather than on the content pages.
- Try not to duplicate material.
- Before you create and name a new page. Try to make sure it fits in and is logically named and organized.
- Spell check.
- If there is a general look and feel that a page or theme follows, try to be consistent in formatting.
- Check discussion pages before making major changes.
